Bio/Description

Perrin Lathrop studies African art, with an interest in the development of modernism on the African continent. She earned a B.A. in art History and business studies from New York University in 2009 and an M.A. in the history of art from the Courtauld Institute of Art, University of London, in 2011. She has presented her research at conferences at Boston University (2014), Rutgers University (2012), and the University of South Africa (2012). In 2013, she curated the exhibition “The Art of Translation: The Simon Ottenberg Gift of Modern and Contemporary Nigerian Art” at the Newark Museum while serving as curatorial associate in the museum’s Arts of Africa department.
