Hailing from Minneapolis, Minnesota, Mira Ho-Chen (class of 2026) is on the race and public policy track. She was drawn to the African American Studies department because of its commitment to liberation and its ability to make interventions into both the academy and the larger world. Because it centers marginalized perspectives and ways of knowing, it imagines social justice expansively and comprehensively. As an aspiring comedy writer, Mira believes that she must critically understand how the world operates in order to write satire, and studying AAS has allowed her to challenge dominant, taken-for granted power structures more effectively. Outside of class, Mira is the head writer for the Princeton Triangle Club, a (part-time) reporter for WPRB News and Culture, and a member of the Taiwanese American Students Association. She is also pursuing certificates in Asian American Studies and American Studies.
