Bio/Description

Aaron Carico is a lecturer in African American Studies and Ethnicity, Race, and Migration. He received his PhD from Yale’s American Studies program in 2012. He has held a postdoctoral fellowship at the Center for African American Studies at Princeton University and a Mellon postdoctoral fellowship with the Illinois Program for Research in the Humanities at the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. He is currently completing a manuscript titled Black Market: Slavery’s Currency in American Culture after 1865 (forthcoming, University of North Carolina Press).
