Event Description

Join us virtually as we explore the components of acquiring a certificate in African American Studies at Princeton University.

The Department of African American Studies (AAS) provides an exciting and innovative model for teaching and research about African-descended people, with a central focus on their experiences in the United States. Our faculty members are established leaders and the most prolific and notable scholars in their respective fields: African American Studies, Art and Archaeology, Comparative Literature, English, History, Religion, and Sociology. Our courses on African American literature and history, mass incarceration, African art, race and public policy, as well as seminars on James Baldwin and Lorraine Hansberry just to name a few, provide an opportunity to go beneath the surface of things and explore the depths of this field. With access to exclusive funding opportunities throughout your course of study, we hope to enrich our students’ experiences at Princeton.

This event is open to undergraduate students only.
