Nyle Fort is a Ph.D. student in religion concentrating in African American studies. His research focuses on the politics of African American mourning. Last year, he co-organized the first annual graduate student conference in the department of African American studies entitled eighteen hundred and more: mourning the needy dead in the chaos of protest. Nyle is a Ford Predoctoral Fellow and holds a B.A. in English from Morehouse College and a Masters of Divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary.
