When you are ready to announce your intention to earn the certificate, please complete the Certificate Form and either email the form to Jana Johnson, or print and return a hard copy to the African American Studies main office.

Event Announcements and Sponsorship Requests

The department has limited funds for the purpose of co-sponsoring events with other organizations and campus units. We invite requests for co-sponsorship of events and programs that have substantive relevance to the central mission of African American Studies: to draw on the insights and techniques of various disciplines in an effort to understand the experiences, history and culture of African-descended people. The department provides co-sponsorship funding for programming efforts that are intellectual/academic and cultural.

All events and co-sponsorship requests are considered by the department chair and the faculty members who serve on the Department’s programming committee. Please complete our “Request for Co-Sponsorship” form with funding inquiries.
